Summary: Ross Reck is a consultant who spent the last 15 years developing a four-step management process to help his global clients add millions to their bottom lines. His philosophy is built around what he terms as the "X-factor" -- the secret of getting ordinary people X-cited about going the X-tra mile to help their managers achieve X-traordinary results. The process he builds around it is comprehensive, easy to understand and use, and universal in its application. Presenting his techniques as a business parable, Reck shows how any manager can harness the "X-factor" to achieve extraordinary results from ordinary people.

Limitations of Experimental Channel Characterisation Book by Markus Landmann

  • Publisher : GRIN Verlag
  • Release Date : 2008-11-11
  • Category: Technology & Engineering
  • Pages : 274
  • ISBN Code: 3640209443

Summary: Doctoral Thesis / Dissertation from the year 2008 in the subject Electrotechnology, grade: summa cum laude, Technical University of Ilmenau, 152 entries in the bibliography, language: English, abstract: This thesis deals with Experimental Channel Characterisation and its performance limits in real propagation environments. This includes recording of the multidimensional wideband channel matrix by using a MIMO channel sounder and antenna arrays at both sides of the link. High-resolution parameter estimation is finally applied to characterise the channel in terms of DoD, DoA, TDoA, and complex polarimetric path weights. The quality of these estimates in “real world” scenarios is degraded by several impairments of the practical antenna arrays and the measurement system used. The resulting estimation quality limits are investigated in detail by simulations and measurements. The entire processing chain is analysed in terms of possible error sources. To this end, measurement system impairments, antenna array calibration errors as well as limitations of the radio channel model comprising two parts: specular like reflections (SC) and distributed diffuse scattering (DMC) applied by the high-resolution parameter estimation procedure are investigated. Moreover, consequences of using these results to deduce and parameterise geometry based channel models are demonstrated. The contributions of this thesis are of interest for researchers dealing with high-resolution parameter estimation and channel modelling and can be summarised as follows: • the efficient and accurate radiation pattern modelling of antenna arrays, • the powerful performance evaluation framework for practical antenna arrays, • the exposure of consequence of modelling errors on parameter estimation, • and the demonstration of overall limitations of Experimental Channel Characterisation.

Summary: Drug overdose, driven largely by overdose related to the use of opioids, is now the leading cause of unintentional injury death in the United States. The ongoing opioid crisis lies at the intersection of two public health challenges: reducing the burden of suffering from pain and containing the rising toll of the harms that can arise from the use of opioid medications. Chronic pain and opioid use disorder both represent complex human conditions affecting millions of Americans and causing untold disability and loss of function. In the context of the growing opioid problem, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) launched an Opioids Action Plan in early 2016. As part of this plan, the FDA asked the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine to convene a committee to update the state of the science on pain research, care, and education and to identify actions the FDA and others can take to respond to the opioid epidemic, with a particular focus on informing FDA's development of a formal method for incorporating individual and societal considerations into its risk-benefit framework for opioid approval and monitoring.

Summary: It’s spring in Buffalo, New York. At sprawling St. Paul’s Hospital, new interns rush through the halls, staff doctors scramble to catch their protégés’ mistakes, and everyone is aware of one unrelenting threat: A new and vicious strain of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) has hit America hard and is menacing the hospital like a wolf at the door. Wrapped in spacesuit-like garb to search for every possible source of infection, the hospital staff desperately tries to protect the lives of patients–and of each other. Yet despite St. Paul’s best efforts, people are dying. In this chilling medical landscape, no one notices the slight spike in the death rate in a palliative care ward. The prevailing attitude is “They’re supposed to die. That’s why we call them terminal.” When these same patients complain of terrifying near-death experiences, the hospital staff attributes it to delirium caused by medication. But when ER chief Dr. Earl Garnet gets blamed for the unexpected death of a patient, he defies protocol and opens an independent investigation. He quickly becomes suspicious that something far more sinister than disease is killing the hospital’s most vulnerable patients. For Garnet, looking into the deaths means rattling relationships that have been built over years–relationships with several men and women he once trusted but now must doubt. With the SARS epidemic spinning out of control and a storm of suspicion, fear, and mistrust raging through the corridors of St. Paul’s, the hospital is rocked by a horrifying crime: A respected researcher is found brutally murdered. And his executioner may be ready to strike again. With brilliant pacing, scalpel-sharp suspense, and an unmatched knowledge of the workings of a big-city hospital, Peter Clement is a thriller writer in a league of his own. In his new work, he takes us on a galvanizing, frightening, and constantly fascinating journey set on the front lines of medicine–where some dangers can be prevented and others can only be feared.

Summary: The objections faced by the pharmaceutical sales professionals are different from the objections faced by the sales professionals of automobile, FMCG or electronic goods. The basic difference in pharmaceutical selling is; customers (doctors) are not buyers (patients). And thus the patterns of objections are also different. Thereby handling those objections is also different. Moreover, there is no specific guideline, literature or book written on the different objections faced by the pharmaceutical sales professionals. This has motivated me to write a book on objection handling, particularly for pharmaceutical sales professionals. In this book, etiology of objection, attitude towards objection, types of objection, strategy for handling objection, techniques of handling objection SLUAAC Technique, methods of handling objection have explained elaborately. And lastly 22 commonly encountered objections and how to handle those objections have been discussed. In this book more applied aspects have bben incorporated; because books meant for practical use should contain much of applied discussion.

Bloodline of the Gods Book by Nick Redfern

  • Release Date : 2015-08-17
  • Category: Body, Mind & Spirit
  • Pages : 256
  • ISBN Code: 1601633874

Summary: Are significant numbers of humanity the product of an ancient and advanced alien civilization? Have we, across the millennia, been periodically modified and refined as a species? In short, has our genetic make-up been manipulated by otherworldly beings that view human civilization as one big lab experiment? These are controversial and thought-provoking questions. They are also questions that demand answers, answers that may very well be found by examining those people whose blood type is Rh negative. The vast majority of humankind—85 to 90 percent—is Rh positive, which means a person’s red blood cells contain an antigen directly connected to the Rhesus monkey. This antigen is known as the Rh factor. Each and every primate on the planet has this antigen, except for one: the remaining 10 to 15 percent of humans. If the theory of evolution is valid—that each and every one of us is descended from ancient primates—shouldn’t we all be Rh positive? Yes, we should. But we’re not. The Negatives are unlike the rest of us. They are different. They are the unique individuals whose bloodline may have nothing less than extraterrestrial origins.
